The Kitchen

Abby walked into the kitchen. She saw three females. Excellent for the investigation...but Abby right now was a little concerned about that watch. It was the only item she owned that used to be her father's, and it was a memory of her brother too. But I guess she was killing two birds with one stone; by asking them questions about her watch, she would be able to hear their voices to match them to the person who injected her. Still, she knew that Melanie was the one who brought her to the infirmary. Would she have been the one who injected her? She trusted her too much to even think that; Melanie and her brothers had allowed her and many others to stay at their mansion. It was obvious she had made a big sacrifice; she clearly didn't like having so many people in her home. Abby walked up the the group of girls in the kitchen, busy cooking. "Um, excuse me. But have you guys by any chance seen a watch around here? I lost it somewhere and I recently had an injury, so I don't quite remember what happened to it and where I was before..." she asked them.

With soft feet, Reanah enters the kitchen full of females. She flushes pink and quickly starts to unload her bag, taking out the energy bars and cans of soup. Quick and quiet, she told herself, quick and quiet. As she was unpacking, a few of her sharpened knives fell out of her bag and clanged to the floor. Cursing under her breath, Reanah bends down, picking them up and resuming to the task at hand.

Abby stared at the girl who entered the kitchen as she picked up the blade contents of her bag that had fell to the floor. Abby had usually seen this girl with her cat. She had always loved cats; when she lived on the streets there was always a stray cat that used to visit her when her brother was gone, singing at the fountain to earn money from them. She had grown fond of cats, and she really wished she had gotten to know the girl and her cat better. Maybe they could've been friends. But Abby didn't have time to make friends right now. She needed to find her watch and find her mystery person. "Hello. I don't think we've talked before. My name's Abby. It's a pleasure to meet you. I was wondering if you had seen a watch somewhere? I've either lost or misplaced it and I can't quite remember where I put it..." She continued staring at the girl, waiting for a reply.

Reanah glances at the girl. She was attacked, wasn't she? She shakes her head no. "No, I'm sorry. Did you retrace your steps?" She finished politely, trying to make good conversation with the girl. Reanah throws her bag over her shoulder, leaving the things on the counter so someone could se them.

In the meanwhile, Whin was completely unaware of the others in the kitchen. Unable to hear their approach, and the vibrations in the floor masked by the movements of her knife, she took no notice. She scraped the contents of the board into the pot on the stove, and began cutting up a second round.

Abby realizing she was getting no replies. She understood why Whin didn't reply- she was the girl Abby had seen writing notes to Jeremy. She probably couldn't speak or hear. Abby felt a stab of guilt for not noticing that sooner. That's when she had a great idea. She rushed out of the kitchen and into the living room.

Katherine noticed the two girls, one asking for a watch, but before Katherine could get the chance to reply, the girl left. So instead she looked at the girl Reanah. She wasn't sure if she should say anything and she decided against words anyways. So instead she just offered her a small wave before pulling out the cook book she had earlier, reading on how to make the dishes that were in English. Honestly, so far it's seemed like only a few people have gotten hungry, though. So far at least.

John came sliding into the room, his face devoid of expression as he planted himself at Whin's side. The boy stared up at her, watching her cook; he blinked once, and then remained right where he was, silent and not looking like he was going anywhere until he got something.

After dumping in the second batch of chopped vegetables, Whin filled the pot 2/3 full of water. After rummaging around in the cupboard above the counter, she found a container of chicken bullion cubes. Unwrapping ten, she dropped them into the water and vegetable mixture and began stirring it with a long-handled spoon.

John reached out and grabbed the knife that Whin had put down. The boy lifted a hand and, still staring forwards at nothing, slid the knife down his palm, leaving a large gash. Red blood immediately welled into the wound; beads of blood began to run down his palm.

The boy placed the knife back onto the counter and stared at the blood dripping onto the floor.

Whin's eyes widened at the sudden realization that someone was next to her, bleeding. Abandoning the soup, she grabbed the towel that hung on the oven handle and pressed it against the boy's palm. She wondered why the hell he had done such a thing. Perhaps he was depressed.

She wrapped the towel carefully around his hand, her eyes gazing at him with a look of questioning sympathy

Katherine's eyes widened at the site of a child in awe, children were sweet. He seemed fully interested in Whin's cooking, probably looking for some food. It reminded her of her own sister, and she smiled, but it didn't meet her eyes which were full of sadness. And then, Katherine saw blood. A lot of it, dripping quickly. Her smile dropped and turned to a look of pure horror.

"L-little boy?" She asked quietly, quickly grabbing the knife and flinging it away from the boy, not bothering to see where it landed. Somewhere inside of her, she hopped it hit Taylor, but no. It didn't, she heard it thud against the wall. She watched as the girl Whin, quickly got a towel and helped him. "We need to get him help." She said quickly to Whin, her lips quivering at the sight of blood. The girl wasn't looking at her, hopefully Whin heard her.

Reanah, who was already finished removing the contents of the bag, and currently looking around, turned to John, wide eyed. "W-What are you doing!" It wasn't a question. She shivers at the blood before waking up to him, standing by his side as the quiet girl, Whim she thought, did what she would have done as well. "Reasoning..?" She trails off, ending in question. Why would he do such a thing?

If anything, John only looked annoyed that his hand was being wrapped inside of a towel. The boy pursed his lips, frowning and shaking his head quite vigorously as if they were all being silly. … He unwrapped the towel from his hand as if pressing an invisible "undo" button, placing it back on the counter.

John thrust his bleeding hand out at Reanah, still with no expression on his face as the blood began to bloom from the open wound once more. "Fix."

Reanah stares at him in utter shock before stuttering out a reply. "Yes..yes..fix.." She mutters, grabbing the boy's other arm and pulling him to the only place with materials she could use. The Infirmary.

But John remained rooted in his place, not letting himself be dragged. Again he shook his head, again momentarily frustrated beyond belief as his brown hair whipped back and forth. "Wrong arm!"

The boy wiggled his arm out of her hand, then practically slapped his bleeding hand into her grip as a quick replacement. "Fix!" >:C

Reanah could feel her hand almost instantly become warm upon touching the open wound. John's grip was tight-- almost painfully tight, but Reanah's hand grew warmer and warmer. The warmth was not that of a burning, painful warmth… but a glowing, comforting warmth.

Because her hand was literally emitting a pale, white glow.

Katherine wasn't sure if her eyes were just tired, but she could of sworn Reanah's hands were glowing. She wasn't sure if she should believe her eyes or not. What was happening? She bit the side of her cheek, watching with weary eyes. Want if the girl was injecting some kind of poisen to little boy?? Well. He thinks Reanah csn fix him, so there's not much Katherine can do but watch. She decided to remain silent, she was good at that.

Reanah stood there in shock. "Wh-What..?" She took another glance at her arm. "What did you...you do?" She whispers, stunned. The warmth was amazing. What was happening? "H-How did you.." She trails off, shaking her head. "I'm imagining things, aren't I? Surely so." She was now talking herself. "Lets just..fix this.." She gestures to his hand, which was still bleeding.

John let go of Reanah's warm, glowing hand. He turned away from her and grabbed the towel that Whin had previously used, wiping away all the blood to reveal, to everyone… that his hand was no longer wounded. There was not even a scar left over; nothing was there, and whatever Reanah had done had healed his hand completely.

Reanah's hand stopped glowing, going back to normal. John looked at her with his round eyes. "Thank you," he stated plainly, as if everything that had just occurred had been one-hundred-percent common.

The boy turned around after that, going back to what he had originally been doing. Looking upwards and watching Whin cook, his eyes carrying a silent question. Is the food ready yet?

Reanah stood there, not moving the arm which was perfectly normal again. "Y-Your..welcome..?" She was confused out of her wits, but managed to grab her bag and throw it over her shoulder. Presenting a curt nod of goodbye to everyone, she slowly walks out. She didn't want there. She couldn't. She didn't know what happened, but she wasn't about to see it happen again.

Katherine just..kind of..dropped her cook book when the boy had revealed his arm was completely healed. What. She quickly reached down for her book, and then pretended to look interested in the boring thing, while instead she was watching everything lay out in front of her. Reanah had quickly walked out of the room, she noticed, and John was acting as if it never happened, going back to watching Whin cook. Katherine was beyond tired, her mind couldn't wrap around the situation. She wasn't sure what just went on, and she wish she could rewind and watch from a different perspective and pay more attention to what happened.

All Katherine could mumble was "W-what just happened." Her question ending more as a statement.

Being unable to hear, Whin remained completely oblivious to what had just happened. The soup bubbled merrily on the stovetop, the smells of chicken and vegetables filling the kitchen. Finding a bag of rice in the pantry, Whin poured most of it into the soup, trying to stretch it a little bit more.

Heather gets inside and cheerfully call a "Hello". "I had nothing to do." Heather explained sheepishly. And then she smiled. "Need some help?" Heather was fond of cooking. She was thanking God very silently that she found the kitchen easily.

A gloomy Jeremy wandered into the kitchen, grabbing a couple of slices of bread and eating them without absolutely on them. Having had servants to cook for him, Jeremy himself only knew… well, nothing whatsoever about cooking.

He leaned back against the counter and offered to help to Whin or anyone else going to cook, for that matter. He still felt awful over having lost John.

"Hello." he glanced at Heather, at least offering her a polite hello.

Heather walked over to a cabinet, wondering were flour is. She planned on making cookies. Henna taught her so well, and Heather is really good at it.

But then, a young man came in the kitchen, and passed a "Hello" to Heather. Heather glanced up. "Oh, hey!" She exclaimed cheerfully. "I'm making some cookies. Want?" Heather asked, her eyes twinkling.

Heather wondered why he didn't put anything on the bread. "Its best with cheese." She smiles politely.
